After months of anticipation, it is officially the day of His Majesty, King Charles III’s Coronation.
Taking place at Westminster Abbey, the ceremony will mark the official ascension of King Charles III to the throne, following the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022.
The coronation will be an historic event, steeped in tradition and pageantry. It will be attended by members of the royal family, as well as dignitaries and heads of state from around the world. The ceremony will begin with the procession of the King and Queen Consort, followed by the anointing and crowning of King Charles.
In preparation for the coronation, Westminster Abbey has undergone extensive renovations, including the restoration of the coronation chair and the cleaning of the intricate mosaics that adorn the ceiling. The Abbey has played host to every coronation since 1066, making it a fitting location for this important event in British history.
The coronation will be broadcast live on television and online, allowing people from around the world to witness this historic moment. It will be a day of celebration and reverence, as the people of Britain come together to mark the beginning of a new era under the reign of King Charles.
We at Harrison Funeral Home would like to offer our congratulations to His Majesty the King on this historic day.
