🌙 September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month across the United Kingdom.
Sickle cell disease is a lifelong and life-threatening blood disorder. It predominantly affects people of Black heritage and is most successfully treated with very closely matched blood to the patient’s, so a consistent supply of matched blood is vital for treatment. This September, we encourage you to consider donating blood, especially if you are of Black heritage: your donation could be life-saving.
Sign up to give blood via the NHS website here.
