Funerals in England are exempt from the government’s new ‘Rule of Six’ being introduced this coming Monday, 14 September 2020.
Following the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in England, the Rule of 6 states that the number of people that can attend social gatherings is reduced to six. As with schools, weddings, and workplaces, funerals in England are exempt from the rule.
Funerals may continue to take place with up to 30 attendees. Social distancing must still be maintained, with face coverings still a requirement for attendees, including funeral staff.
