The British Red Cross has a free and simple, potentially life-saving app to help with first aid. Not only does it help you to know what to do in an emergency with an instantly accessible section, but there are quizzes, videos and simple to follow advice if you are interested in learning.

Being that our smaller humans have specific needs when it comes to first aid, the British Red Cross has an app specifically for babies and children. Largely like the adult version in how it looks and is used, it is useful to have on your phone / device to learn some basics on “What to do if…”

NHS Give Blood
Blood donations save countless lives across the UK each year.
This app helps you to find out when the next local blood donation appointments are and where, as well as simplifies the process for you. It’s easy to register and lets you book or change an appointment easily.
You can also be ready to help when the NHS needs you by choosing the option to receive instant alerts or updates when your help is needed for your specific blood group.
what3words
what3Words is an app which identifies any location on Earth in three words. Every 3m square on the planet has been given a unique combination of three words: a what3words address.
Why is this life-saving? It helps UK emergency services to know exactly where to find you. what3words addresses are currently accepted by over 80% of UK emergency services, as well as vehicle breakdown companies such as the AA. So, let us say, for example, you have gone for a long walk in the woods and gotten lost, the app can communicate with emergency services to tell them your location, worldwide.
British police have encouraged people to download what3words since it has proven to help them save lives.
Find My Kids
Find My Kids is an app that enables parents to know their child’s location, using a GPS tracker on the child’s device. Not only will this tell parents if the child is somewhere they should not be, it alerts to them to if they have a low battery and has a panic button.
The app requires a subscription but is one of the most highly rated on Apple and Google.
